Community Outreach Coordinator, Aspire Health Concepts, Inc.
Office Manager, AspireFIT
Kera has an important role at Aspire working with our community to promote health & wellness as Community Outreach Coordinator. She helps communicate Aspire’s vision of healthy communities by developing relationships with local organizations, physicians, specialty providers, schools, businesses and sports teams.
Kera started working in fitness in 2000 when the instructor of the kickboxing class she attended regularly suggested she consider becoming an instructor. Kera received her certification and began teaching a class once a week. She quickly realized that she enjoyed making working out fun for others and seeing people reach their fitness goals was inspiring and has since earned more fitness certifications to instruct more classes.
Engaging people to get moving and seeing how proud they are of their accomplishments motivates Kera. As the Community Outreach Coordinator, the opportunities to connect with others to achieve healthy lifestyles in this way are endless.
Through years in the fitness industry Kera has seen many people too narrowly focused on one element of wellness, often setting themselves up for failure before they even start. Aspire’s philosophy of caring for the whole individual through preventive care, injury rehab, mobility, nutrition, emotional wellness, and fitness addresses all the components of a successful healthy lifestyle. Kera believes strongly in a philosophy of sharing successes with others, making what she does for Aspire exciting and rewarding.
Throughout her career in health, Kera has been Group Fitness Coordinator at the West Shore YMCA, overseeing 100+ classes a week. She developed the successful beginner triathlon training program called YTri. She was the Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Race Director and has worked with businesses and schools to provide specialty group fitness class for their staff and students. Kera is certified with Mad Dogg Spinning, TRX Suspension Training, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor, and SCW Personal Trainer.
When she’s not building healthy communities, Kera enjoys cycling, triathlons, skiing, and other adventurous sports. She one day hopes to return to India for yoga instructor training.
